The following describes the general idea of the list. At this point, I am trying to ascertain the level of interest in such a list. So, if you would be interested in subscribing to this list, please reply to this mail with your email address. My idea is to pattern the list after the successful ML-list. Similar to the ML list, this list too will be _open_ to anyone interested, and will be moderated. All relevant mail sent to the list will be edited into a digest form once a month or once a fortnight (thus _traffic_ will be kept intentionally low). The possible types of information that can be disseminated include: 1. Conference/workshop/special issue notifications 2. Sharing interesting problems and problem/code repositories 3. Announcing the availability of TRs and papers. 4. Moderated discussions, position-statements relevant to planning 5. Informal reviews of planning related papers/books etc. 6. e.g. If there is enough interest (e.g. more than 50 people are interested in it) the list will probably start sometime in August. If not, this will be the only mail you would have seen about it ;-). Please feel free to forward it to any local planning groups you are aware of. Regards Rao [Jul 26, 1995] Ps: I apologize if you get this mail more than once. I collated the various random planning mailing lists together. I put the recepients names in bcc field to avoid accidental cascade of mail. ---------- Subbarao Kambhampati Dept. of Comp Sci. and Engg.
